One of the most surreal things that I see on a daily basis

One of the most surreal things that I see on a daily basis from my window is the rise of the new faux chimneys on battersea Power Station. The old ones were too heavily polluted to keep when they started to re-develop it. So over the past couple of years they have vanished from sight and are now almost complete.
I do wonder who will buy the surrounding apartments, there must be a lot of money floating around somewhere, but surely they can’t all be investments. So seriously how many people can afford flats starting at £750000? Slightly closer to home they have finished some affordable housing a couple of streets away. This starts at about £300000! Affordable for who exactly?
I suppose if your a couple with a combined income of £80000 pa and you have already got a deposit from the bank of mum and and dad may be you might pull it off.

The only reason that I live where I do is because I moved here 30 years ago. The last remaining old school local pub is under threat for redevelopment as surprise, surprise they want to build some flats on the site.
Yet for all this people still believe the lie that only by voting for political party’s that are completely in the pocket of industry and financial institutions that are still continuing to asset strip the country and not invest in either its people or industry or public services will they be secure.
Seriously folks you got it the wrong way round….
