A couple of well received gigs recently, one at the Rose and Crown Walthamstow where we had a very lively crowd having a bit of a dance too which was nice. We worked up a bit of a sweat over the course of the evening too. I was still a bit full of cold so not quite at my best. I got cornered in the loo just before we started and asked if we needed a fiddle player as the lady had a friend who was very good. I don’t think she realised I was going to be fiddling that evening.

Punters are quite funny at times. I thought the phantom fiddler might have come and introduced themselves in the break but alas not. I hope they judged me worthy.

Sunday was an afternoon at the Birds Nest Deptford which is a particular fave as it’s good fun has a decent house PA and does veggie and vegan food so in the break I had a very good Veggie Sunday Roast. The guy that did the sound for us used to be in the Ozric Tentacles and played a bit of flute in the break between sets. At the end he said he had really enjoyed our set which was a nice way to end the afternoon. We will be back there in April 2018 god and or the fates permitting.

Sadly the sound guy had also just had news of the sudden death of an old friend so I guess it was harder work for him than usual but all went well. One of the girls working in the kitchen also turned out to be involved in organising some a couple of festivals and was very complimentary also. We even got some extra veggie gravy which was groovy.

One interesting phenomena is that as we have started to combine some synth sounds into to what we do we have started to get some much younger listeners, not bad for an act that even as a trio has combined age of nearly 200 years though that is still around 40 years younger than my violin by a conservative estimate.

Today for my sins I have had a headache and my nose feels a bit like someones punched it but never mind.
